Get behind the wheel of a vehicle that was designed for those with a passion for driving.
With its low, striking stance and beautifully balanced body, Mazda MX-5 doesn’t just capture your attention but captures the very essence of our KODO - Soul of Motion design philosophy.
When we set out to design the Mazda MX-5 RF, we knew the cabin had to be just as beautiful as the exterior. It also had to evoke a sense of excitement for the road ahead. So, we made sure every detail was purposefully placed to make driving better.
Mazda’s KODO: “Soul of Motion” design is more than just a visual language; it’s a belief system. Our craftsmen’s mantra is simple: If you sculpt with the heart, you’ll infuse a soul into everything you create. No line, no edge, no contour is by accident.
From satellite navigation to hands-free music, texts and telephone calls, advanced infotainment in Mazda MX-5 makes staying connected easy.
The six-speed manual transmission is small and light, engineered to provide a direct shift feel and superior fuel economy thanks to a new torque converter with wider slip control and lock-up range.
As if the drive wasn’t thrilling enough, our engineers made significant enhancements to the SKYACTIV®-G 2.0-liter engine. Making this the most powerful MX-5 RF. Ever. Along with 184 hp comes a redline increase from 7,000 rpm to 7,500 rpm. Pistons and connecting rods were lightened as well, allowing for increased engine speed without additional weight. And, with an available limited-slip rear differential*. you’ll find joy in every curve and switchback. *Manual transmission models only.
With the available suite of i-ACTIVSENSE® safety features, ingenious technologies can help alert you to potential hazards. Helping you avoid collisions — or lessen their impact. Because you want to be focused and engaged when you drive. And that starts with feeling confident behind the wheel.
Helps the driver avoid frontal collisions while driving at the slow speeds common in urban areas or congested traffic.
Uses two ultrasonic sensors mounted on the bumper to keep track of obstacles when reversing at low speeds (approximately 2-8 km/h). If there is a risk of collision the system applies the brakes automatically, minimizing damage resulting from any impact.
Adaptive LED Headlights
Detects line marking on the road surface and warns the driver of unintentional lane departures. This system is particularly effective in situations where the road is continuously straight and drivers have a tendency to not pay sufficient attention to the road.
When the lane change is accompanied by turn signal operation or acceleration, the system recognizes the maneuver as intentional and does not sound an alarm.
