When it comes to driving, there’s no such thing as a “minor” detail.
Plenty of storage to reduce clutter for families and ease transition between personal, family and professional endeavors
Available predictive i-Activ AWD® all-wheel drive monitors everything from outside temperature to throttle input and braking patterns. Using that information, it adjusts power delivery to help give you optimal traction before your wheels can slip. Even when the weather’s perfect, i-Activ AWD helps stabilize and improve the Mazda CX-9’s overall road grip by sensing changes in steering effort and traction.
Available i-Activsense vehicle safety innovations use advanced technologies to give you a sixth sense for safety, helping to alert you of potential hazards and avert collisions to reduce their severity. It's another way Mazda lets you focus on what matters most: driving.
Mazda’s KODO: “Soul of Motion” design philosophy conveys a sense of strength and energy manifested in the Mazda CX-9’s athletic stance, elongated hood and tapered roofline. The overall effect is a combination of composed power and instantaneous movement.
Shaped to suggest a carved object, the genuine Rosewood of the center console is completed with a matte finish that is pleasing to the touch while revealing the wood’s depth of grain. Rosewood is a highly valued material all around the world.
Even with its sleek low roofline, this stunning full-size SUV still offers more volume and more second- and third-row legroom than some competitors. Accessing the third row is simple, making it easy for kids to climb in—all without needing to remove an installed child seat.
Another way the Mazda CX-9 elevates the driving experience is by subduing road, wind and engine noise. We added 53 pounds of sound-deadening material, used sound-insulating glass, and installed even better seal insulation than in the previous generation. All this makes the Mazda CX-9 remarkably quiet, ensuring your time behind the wheel is one of minimal stress and maximum enjoyment.
Mazda’s available predictive i-ACTIV AWD® system could instantly recognize road conditions and even adjust power distribution to account for wheel slip in dry conditions before a driver could ever notice.
Skyactiv-Vehicle Dynamics with G-Vectoring Control is an innovative technology that helps you steer more precisely by optimizing load control. It’s a highly efficient vehicle movement control system that operates in the background during a spirited drive.
Our focus is on responsiveness and driving enjoyment. Our 7-passenger SUV is no exception. Engineered from the ground up with Skyactiv® Technology, the Mazda CX-9 stands out from the competition with outstanding driving dynamics.
Mazda takes serious its role in building safe vehicles and advancing technologies to keep you and your loved ones safe on the road. Mazda’s class-leading chassis dynamics and outstanding HMI technologies adhere to Jinba Ittai, advancing the notion of purposeful technology that reduces clutter and improves the driving experience. Mazda CX 9 instills a superior sense of security with a IIHS 2020 Top Safety Pick+ and advanced i-ACTIVSENSE technology, so you move with greater confidence and arrive safety every time.

Lane-keep Assist System
Lane Departure Warning System
Helps the driver avoid frontal collisions while driving at the slow speeds common in urban areas or congested traffic.
Uses two ultrasonic sensors mounted on the bumper to keep track of obstacles when reversing at low speeds (approximately 2-8 km/h). If there is a risk of collision the system applies the brakes automatically, minimizing damage resulting from any impact.
Adaptive LED Headlights
LAS uses a windshield-mounted camera to recognize lane-markings on the road and helps to promote safer driving by providing appropriate steering assistance.
Detects line marking on the road surface and warns the driver of unintentional lane departures. This system is particularly effective in situations where the road is continuously straight and drivers have a tendency to not pay sufficient attention to the road.
When the lane change is accompanied by turn signal operation or acceleration, the system recognizes the maneuver as intentional and does not sound an alarm.
